Carson Willis

Look how adorable our nephew, Carson is. He's a stud and he knows it.

40 WEEKS...and still waiting!

Yes, we're still pregnant. BJ and I were so excited for May 1st to get here. Well, it came and went and no baby. I think we were so anxious that when Ben decided it wasn't time, we were both a little disappointed. We have had people calling from all over wondering if we've had him yet. It feels good that our friends and family are thinking about us. Especially since most of you live so far away.
Both of us have been so busy trying to get stuff squared away at work before we go on leave. I'm taking at least 6 weeks off and BJ will be around for most of that time as well. We are very lucky to be in the jobs we are now. Both are very understanding and flexible.
FULL HOUSE is going to be an understatement on Memorial Weekend and we can't wait. My dad and sisters and their families are coming to visit for the weekend. It's going to be similar to Christmas at Dad's, except the kids will all be sleeping in tents. It's going to be so much fun. This will be the first Memorial Weekend I've had off in 5 years. The perks of working in a state park. I'm really looking forward to it. It will the first time they will all get to meet Little Benjamin too. :)
We are actually going to have lots of company over the next month or two. BJ's sister, Nicole is planning on driving down here right after Ben's born. Then I'm sure Mema (BJ's mom) will be heading this way soon after. Austin (BJ's nephew) and his friend Bret will be here the first week in June, which will be fun. And Dale and Merry, BJ's dad and mom are moving to Arkansas in the middle of May. They'll be in NW Arkansas, which is absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to visit. Only 5 hour drive versus 10-11 hours. Been trying to get all of our families to visit since we moved here. Ben's not even here yet and he's doing a better job than we did. :)

Patiently waiting soon-to-be parents

Yes...we're still alive.

Sorry all you bloggers. I know you were wondering where we've been. We really need to do a better job of updating our blog. Anyways, BJ and I are doing great. Getting very excited for May to get here. This weekend we set up Little Ben's nursery. It looks perfect. We decided to do the decor in Pooh Bear (of course). Can't wait for all our friends and family to come visit. HINT, HINT.

Only 2 1/2 more months until the arrival of our baby boy, Benjamin. Life is about to change as we know it. But we're definitely ready. I'm getting bigger everyday. Ben loves kicking his mom. It's pretty amazing to feeling him growing. I try to picture what he's going to look like. I just know he's going to be adorable. BJ says we're having twins and that Ben is making room for his sister. (Don't worry, we're NOT having twins.) It's just wishful thinking on his part. It would be nice to get it over in one swipe though. :)

Well...just wanted to let you all know that we're alive and doing well. Hopefully we'll get some pictures posted soon. Until next time...take care of each other.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas. We did. We spent a couple of days with Nicole, Eric, Austin and Dylan in Silver Lake, KS. Dec. 23 was Dylan's 9th birthday, so actually got to celebrate with him this year. We had the BEST rice crispy treats ever. Great pick, Dylan! On Christmas Eve day, we cooked a fabulous Christmas dinner. Prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, hashbrown potatoes, creamed corn and fruit salad....all the Corcoran favorites. Alexis brought her boyfriend Chris for dinner. It was nice to finally meet him.

We spent most of the time at my Dad's house in Eudora, KS. It was definitely crazy there. We had over 17 people sleeping in a 4 bedroom house at all times. It's always a Nut House but that's what makes it so much fun. Tina and Bill brought all six of their kids from Virginia (Taylor, Shelsey, Hayley, Ethan, Alexandra, and Carson); Michele and Dustin had their 4 here at Dad's (Brittany, Ashton, Kathryn, and Ayrin); then there was me, BJ and Dad and of course all the dogs! Autumn, Kenan and Jonas live here in Eudora so they were in and out all weekend. Speaking of Autumn and Kenan, we found out on Christmas Day that they are expecting a baby next year too. :) How awesome is that?!?!? Little Ben will have a cousin the same age to play with. Our family is continuing to grow each year...it's great!!

Christmas dinner was good at the Newman's house. Everybody showed up...all the uncles, aunts, cousins, and can't forget about Grandpa. Didn't play Pitch like we normally do...I think there was too much other stuff going on. All in all it was a huge success and loads of fun. It's always fun when the whole family gets together.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S to you all! 2007 is going to be the best year ever!

Bun in the Oven

As you all know or figured out from the last posting...We're having a baby! BJ and I have been waiting to start a family until we were settled. Well, I'm not sure how settle we will ever be but it has happened. We are expecting a baby boy in early May. We found out it was a boy on December 5. Actually seeing him and seeing how healthly he is made all that "morning sickness" worth it.

Right now, we're at 5 months and there's no hidding it anymore. I no longer fit into regular clothes but you'd be amazed to see how cute the maternity clothes are nowadays. I feel him doing his gymnastics in there. It's quite amazing. BJ's ready for the baby right now. He's so excited that it's a boy too. He'll finally have someone to play football and wrestle with. We've decided to name him Benjamin Joseph Jr. and call him Benjamin or Ben. How cute is that!!! We can't wait.

Weekend in Wisconsin

What a wonderful weekend! BJ and I spent the weekend in Wisconsin for Merry's 60th birthday. I think, we actually surprised her. I know we surprised her with the new baby-on-the-way. Our drive from Arkansas to Wisconsin took about 10 hours. It was a very pleasant drive both up there and back. Traveling without Pooh and Lucy was quite the treat for us. We could actually go inside and eat if we wanted too.
Nicole, Eric and Austin came from Kansas. Dave, Kim and Max came from Chicago and Vickie and Rob came from Springfield, IL. We definitely had a house full. It was great! There was lots of snow on the ground. All the boys even had a snowball fight. Guess who was the only person who got hurt. Yep...BJ and by the only girl out there. :) I'd have to admit he took it well for being nailed with a huge ICE chunk in the neck. They all had a good time. Merry and Dale have some awesome friends and family. It truely felt like the holidays.

'Tis the season

So we made it through our day of shopping with no problems. We shopped for 10 1/2 hours straight. We were so wore out but had a great time. We got ALMOST all of our shopping done. Thank goodness. Now time to wrap them all (6 hours worth of wrapping). BJ and I love to wrap presents and watch Christmas movies. You should have seen our living room...it looked like Santa's workshop. What a great time of the year!! I hope you all are in the christmas spirit too. No Scrooges out there this year.
