HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas. We did. We spent a couple of days with Nicole, Eric, Austin and Dylan in Silver Lake, KS. Dec. 23 was Dylan's 9th birthday, so actually got to celebrate with him this year. We had the BEST rice crispy treats ever. Great pick, Dylan! On Christmas Eve day, we cooked a fabulous Christmas dinner. Prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, hashbrown potatoes, creamed corn and fruit salad....all the Corcoran favorites. Alexis brought her boyfriend Chris for dinner. It was nice to finally meet him.

We spent most of the time at my Dad's house in Eudora, KS. It was definitely crazy there. We had over 17 people sleeping in a 4 bedroom house at all times. It's always a Nut House but that's what makes it so much fun. Tina and Bill brought all six of their kids from Virginia (Taylor, Shelsey, Hayley, Ethan, Alexandra, and Carson); Michele and Dustin had their 4 here at Dad's (Brittany, Ashton, Kathryn, and Ayrin); then there was me, BJ and Dad and of course all the dogs! Autumn, Kenan and Jonas live here in Eudora so they were in and out all weekend. Speaking of Autumn and Kenan, we found out on Christmas Day that they are expecting a baby next year too. :) How awesome is that?!?!? Little Ben will have a cousin the same age to play with. Our family is continuing to grow each year...it's great!!

Christmas dinner was good at the Newman's house. Everybody showed up...all the uncles, aunts, cousins, and can't forget about Grandpa. Didn't play Pitch like we normally do...I think there was too much other stuff going on. All in all it was a huge success and loads of fun. It's always fun when the whole family gets together.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S to you all! 2007 is going to be the best year ever!

Bun in the Oven

As you all know or figured out from the last posting...We're having a baby! BJ and I have been waiting to start a family until we were settled. Well, I'm not sure how settle we will ever be but it has happened. We are expecting a baby boy in early May. We found out it was a boy on December 5. Actually seeing him and seeing how healthly he is made all that "morning sickness" worth it.

Right now, we're at 5 months and there's no hidding it anymore. I no longer fit into regular clothes but you'd be amazed to see how cute the maternity clothes are nowadays. I feel him doing his gymnastics in there. It's quite amazing. BJ's ready for the baby right now. He's so excited that it's a boy too. He'll finally have someone to play football and wrestle with. We've decided to name him Benjamin Joseph Jr. and call him Benjamin or Ben. How cute is that!!! We can't wait.

Weekend in Wisconsin

What a wonderful weekend! BJ and I spent the weekend in Wisconsin for Merry's 60th birthday. I think, we actually surprised her. I know we surprised her with the new baby-on-the-way. Our drive from Arkansas to Wisconsin took about 10 hours. It was a very pleasant drive both up there and back. Traveling without Pooh and Lucy was quite the treat for us. We could actually go inside and eat if we wanted too.
Nicole, Eric and Austin came from Kansas. Dave, Kim and Max came from Chicago and Vickie and Rob came from Springfield, IL. We definitely had a house full. It was great! There was lots of snow on the ground. All the boys even had a snowball fight. Guess who was the only person who got hurt. Yep...BJ and by the only girl out there. :) I'd have to admit he took it well for being nailed with a huge ICE chunk in the neck. They all had a good time. Merry and Dale have some awesome friends and family. It truely felt like the holidays.

'Tis the season

So we made it through our day of shopping with no problems. We shopped for 10 1/2 hours straight. We were so wore out but had a great time. We got ALMOST all of our shopping done. Thank goodness. Now time to wrap them all (6 hours worth of wrapping). BJ and I love to wrap presents and watch Christmas movies. You should have seen our living room...it looked like Santa's workshop. What a great time of the year!! I hope you all are in the christmas spirit too. No Scrooges out there this year.
